Canada's Red Lentil Exports Continue Solid Trend
PANAMA - Jun 6/19 - SNS -- At this point in the current marketing year are maintaining a firmer performance, with red lentil shipments for Canada made modest gains, rising compared to the previous month in April, according to available data from Statistics Canada.
Total shipments throughout the month reached 73,487 metric tons (MT), up 16% from the previous month's total of 63,463. So far exports have totalled 881,569 MT, up from 547,839 during the previous marketing year.
During the month, India was the number one buyer, taking 20,744 MT. United Arab Emirates was the second most important consumer receiving 15,105 MT, followed by Sri Lanka at 11,447 MT.
