Lentils Seeing Moderate Demand

PANAMA - Jun 3/19 - SNS -- Lentil markets have experienced a recent improvement in export trading activity as buyers in some destinations take advantage of lower prices for some classes and grades of product.

The delayed start to India's monsoon season should slow the initial pace of kharif seeding, which could be helping bring some buyers to the table to cover expected gaps in supply.

India is also rebuilding its pulse buffer stocks, which is adding some price support to domestic markets, which could help improve the competitive position of imported lentils in that country.
