Australia's Chickpea Exports Open On Easy Note

PANAMA - May 8/19 - SNS -- Australia's movement of chickpeas during March posted significant declines, slumping compared to the previous month, judging from data from Australia Bureau of Statistics.

Export sales during the month reached 25,364 metric tons (MT), down from 46,866 MT the previous month. This lifted movement so far during the marketing year to 167,043, down 67% last year.

The biggest consumer for the month was Bangladesh, taking 18,525 MT. United Arab Emirates was the second most important consumer buying 2,170 MT, followed by Pakistan at 2,025 MT.
