Chickpea Exports From Russia Post Easy Opening

PANAMA - Apr 11/19 - SNS -- Started this calendar year amanageda weaker performance, with chickpea export shipments for Russia were little changed, dropping relative to the previous month in January, judging from official data from Federal Customs Service of Russia.

The updated statistics showed movement for the month totalled 24,428 metric tons (MT), down 18% from 29,903 the previous month. Compared to the same month last year, shipments were up 252% from 6,945 MT.

For the month, Turkey was the top destination, buying 9,450 MT. Pakistan was the second most important importer buying 6,239 MT, followed by India at 4,309 MT.
