Easier Tone in Birdseeds

PANAMA - Apr 5/19 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets finished the week's trading on slightly easier note as offers from growers and processors pulled ahead of the short term needs of packagers.

White proso millet showed the most significant weakness, with grower bids dropping roughly U.S. $16.50 per metric ton (MT) to $265, while inter dealer asking prices posted a slightly smaller decline. Even so, markets remain well above their opening season lows of roughly $182 MT.

Inter deal markets for Canadian canaryseed were largely unchanged on the weak, though spot market grower bids in that country also eased, slipping $11 on the week to close ranging up to $530 MT.
