Second Lowest Oat Area

WASHINGTON - Mar 29/19 - SNS -- Area seeded to oats this year in the United States is estimated at 2.56 million acres, down 7% from 2018, according to this year's USDA seeding intentions report.

If realized, the United States planted area will be the second lowest on record. Record low planted acreage is estimated in Arkansas, California, Maine, Minnesota, and North Carolina.

Beginning in 2019, oat estimates were discontinued in Alabama, Colorado, South Carolina, Washington, and Wyoming.
