Pigeon Pea Imports By India Reveal Better Result
PANAMA - Mar 28/19 - SNS -- India's imports of pigeon peas in December posted massive gains, rising versus the previous month, according to data from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics.
Imports during the month reached 77,026 metric tons (MT), up from 32,751 MT the previous month. This boosted imports so far during the calendar year to 462,699, down 5% last year.
The top shipper throughout the month was Mozambique, selling 53,432 MT. Tanzania was the second most important origin shipping 14,398 MT, followed by Myanmar at 6,893 MT.
