Red Lentil Exports From Canada Open With Firm Tone
PANAMA - Mar 27/19 - SNS -- Canada's exports of red lentils in January recorded major gains, jumping versus the previous month, judging from data from Statistics Canada.
Export sales for the first month of the marketing year totalled 173,191 metric tons (MT), up 122% from 78,100 MT the previous month. The data showed exports was up 81% from the 313,278 MT recorded in the same month last year.
was the number one buyer, receiving 0 MT. India was the second most important consumer taking 67,088 MT, followed by Egypt at 23,109 MT.
