Chickpeas Maintain Easy Tone

PANAMA - Mar 22/19 - SNS -- Kabuli chickpea markets closed the week's trading on an easier note despite indications demand for product from Canada and the United States could see some improvement in the coming weeks.

Through May, India is expected to remain a strong competitor in large and medium caliber markets. The country is a year round shipper of kabuli chickpeas, with average monthly export shipments peaking between February and June.

Competition for available demand from Mexico generally starts in March, with movement being relatively consistent on a month to month basis through November.
