Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 21/19 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough will develop over far western Victoria today then will move eastwards across the State during Saturday as a weak cold front crosses Bass Strait. A stronger cold front associated with a deepening low in the Southern Ocean is forecast to reach far western Victoria late on Sunday, crossing the rest of the State early on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayMorning fog patches in the south and east contracting to the coast. Isolated morning drizzle also about the west coast, clearing later in the morning. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over northern, central and eastern districts, clearing from the northwest this morning. Warm to hot inland but milder along the coast. Light winds tending northerly inland. Light to moderate east to southeasterlies about the coast.Fire Danger -  High in the north, low-moderate elsewhere.Saturday 23 MarchIsolated showers developing early in the west, extending to central and eastern areas by the afternoon, becoming scattered with isolated thunderstorms inland. Remaining dry in the northwest. A warm to hot day, moderate to fresh northerly winds shifting milder westerly in the far west during the morning then extending eastward during the day.Sunday 24 MarchIsolated showers to start, increasing over the north and east during the day and tending to rain areas in the northeast late. Showers also increasing in the far west later in the day. Isolated thunderstorms about the eastern ranges. Warm and partly cloudy with light winds at first, tending northerly from the west and freshening.Monday 25 MarchScattered showers tending to rain at first in the northeast, though more patchy in the northwest and eastern Gippsland. Showers contracting to the coast from the west during the day. Fresh to strong northwesterly winds shifting cooler westerly during the morning.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Friday.Product IDV10310
