Oil-type Sunflower Imports By Romania Start With Soft Tone

PANAMA - Mar 20/19 - SNS -- Started the current calendar year on an easier note, with oil-type sunflower imports for Romania sank compared to the previous month in January, judging from the most recent statistics from Eurostat.

Imports for the opening month of the calendar year totalled 11,327 metric tons (MT), down 50% from 22,501 MT the previous month. The data showed imports was down 45% from the 20,545 MT reported in the same month last year.

Moldova was the largest exporter, selling 10,701 MT. Ukraine was the second most important supplier shipping 372 MT, followed by Turkey at 136 MT.
