Mexico's Chickpea Exports Continue Firm Trend
PANAMA - Mar 4/19 - SNS -- Movement of chickpeas from Mexico made modest gains, inching up relative to the previous month in November, official data from Instituto Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia shows.
Movement reached 15,544 metric tons (MT) in the month, up 1% from the 15,445 MT shipped the previous month. Export sales so far total 145,550 MT, compared to 137,932 during the last calendar year.
Algeria was the number one importer for the month, taking 5,628 MT. Spain was the second most important importer buying 2,012 MT, followed by Turkey at 1,825 MT.
