Chickpeas Relatively Firm

PANAMA - Feb 22/19 - SNS -- The world's chickpea markets maintained their relatively firm tone through the past week against worries about the production potential of large caliber product in India and Mexico.

Exporters in India have said recent weather events reduced their export potential, but crops like wheat appear to have benefitted from increased rainfall in some regions.

Some competitors in the kabuli chickpea market still believe production in India will be higher than suggested and are working to get forward sales on the books.
