WASHINGTON - Feb 8/19 - SNS -- Sorghum grain production in 2018 was estimated at 365 million bushels, up 1% from the 2017 total, according to the USDA's final crop report for 2018.
Planted area for 2018 was estimated at 5.69 million acres, up 1% from the previous year. Area harvested for grain, at 5.06 million acres, was up less than 1% from 2017. Grain yield was estimated at 72.1 bushels per acre, up 0.4 bushel from 2017.
