Pea Movement Remains Good

PANAMA - Feb 1/19 - SNS -- Field pea markets were little changed through the past week, with relatively good movement helping support prices throughout the marketing chain.

Markets are showing little concern for ongoing negotiations between China and United States to end their trade war. So far, this has seen China buy more soybeans from the United States, which will reduce the need for substitutes.

At the same time, African Swine fever could reduce the number of hogs in China between 10% and 20% by the end of the year. That will reduce the quantity of feed ingredients the country needs to import.
