Mustard Seed Plantings Seen Unchanged
PANAMA - Jan 18/19 - SNS -- In its latest monthly review of Canadian mustard seed Agriculture Canada's market analysis branch in Winnipeg issued its first forecast of seeded area and production for the 2019-20 marketing year. The forecasts are not based on surveys of growers.
It predicts production will total 180,000 MT from 205,000 hectares this year, compared to 173,000 MT from 204,000 hectares last year.
Agriculture Canada forecasts exports will reach 120,000 MT in 2019-20, compared to 112,000 this season and 112,000 MT the previous marketing year. Domestic use is forecast at 45,000 MT in the coming marketing year, versus 46,000 this season.
