Lentil Tone Remains Firm
PANAMA - Jan 18/19 - SNS -- North American lentil markets maintained their firm tone through the past week, helped by ongoing accumulation and shipments of bulk product through Vancouver.
Bulk lentil shipments through the middle of January are more than double what was loaded to for bulk transport between August and January last season.
Inventories in port positions were low as of January 13, but the bulk handling system continues to buy relatively large quantities from farmers, suggesting exporters are accumulating stocks for movement later this month and February.
