Chickpea Imports From India Continue Soft Tendency

PANAMA2 - Jan 17/19 - SNS -- So far during this calendar year maintained a softer trend, with chickpea imports by India were slightly lower, falling relative to the previous month in November, judging from official trade data from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics.

Total imports in the month amounted to 20,033 metric tons (MT) , down 7% from the previous month's total of 21,429. So far Imports to 175,660 MT, down from 1,406,913 during the last calendar year.

Current trade data reported Sudan was number one origin, shipping 14,929 MT in the month. Tanzania was the second most important origin selling 2,496 MT, followed by Singapore at 1,199 MT.
