Desi Showing Underlying Firmness

PANAMA - Nov 16/18 - SNS -- Desi and kabuli chickpea markets continued to maintain different underlying price tendencies during the past week.

Harvest progress in Australia has seen some relaxation in asking prices in recent weeks, with exporters finding it easier to cover outstanding sales commitments.

India's domestic market has also shown some recent strength, helped by worries about how many chickpeas will be planting during the current rabi season and whether yields could be hurt by drier conditions in parts of the country.
