Lentils Unchanged to Firmer

PANAMA - Sep 28/18 - SNS -- North American lentil markets finished unchanged to firmer on the week against slowing grower selling interest and the near completion of this year's harvest.

Many growers have sold what they want for this year's opening season shipping period with the balance of their production in storage, hoping for better prices in the future. While farmers in parts of the United States still deliver product into warehouses, growers in Canada store product in bins on their farms.

Onfarm storage is perceived a cheaper long run option and gives growers more flexibility in terms of both timing and delivery location.
