Mustard Markets Unchanged To Easier

PANAMA - Sep 21/18 - SNS -- Mustard seed markets finished the week's trading unchanged for yellow and oriental but down slightly for brown as the availability of new crop supplies improves.

Canada's harvest pushed past 74% complete during the past week, compared to 70% the previous week. Progress was slowed by poor weather conditions across much of the growing area. By contrast, 88% of the crop was in the bin by the middle of September last year, well above the recent five year average of 68%.

Progress at this level suggests 130,000 metric tons (MT) of new crop mustard seed is now available, compared to 107,000 at the same time last year.
