Little Disagreement in US Pea Area
PANAMA - Sep 14/18 - SNS -- Field pea markets were little changed in the past week, with exporters continuing to amass stocks to cover outstanding business.
The USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA) released its report on seeded area during the past week, with the data suggested dry field pea area totalled 884,109 acres, compared to the NASS' 865,000 acre estimate.
The FSA said farmers reporting planting 648,000 acres of yellow peas; 214,449 acres of green; 9,261 acres of wrinkled; 8,497 acres of austrian winter peas; and 1,629 acres of speckled.
