Pea Tone Somewhat Easier
PANAMA - Aug 17/18 - SNS -- International field pea markets finished the week's trading with a somewhat easier undertone against rising harvest selling pressure in northern hemisphere countries.
Canada's harvest started the week at over 21% complete, compared to 28% by the middle of August last year and the recent average of just over 19%.
Saskatchewan Agriculture reporting another 21% was ready to straight combine and 2% in swath. Continued dry and hot conditions are drying down crops rapidly, suggesting farmers will make excellent progress harvesting this year's crop.
