Mustard Markets Unchanged
PANAMA - Aug 17/18 - SNS -- Mustard seed markets finished the week's trading generally unchanged, with virtually no harvest progress reported in the main growing areas in western Canada.
As the week got underway none of Saskatchewan's mustard seed crop was ready to straight combine, but 3% was in swath, suggesting harvest activity will be reported in next week's crop progress reports.
Markets remain uncertain about this year's yield prospects. Crop tours in July suggested the potential for average to slightly better yields, but heat and moisture stress since that time may have had an impact seed fill in a wider area.
