U.S. Beans Remain in Good Condition

WASHINGTON - Jul 23/18 - SNS -- Dry edible bean crops in the United States are in mostly good to excellent condition, despite problems in some growing areas, judging from the latest state level reports from the USDA.

There was a modest upward shift in the condition of the crop, with the percentage rated poor or very poor unchanged at 5%, while the proportion rated fair slipped from 21% to 20% over the past week.

Crops continue to suffer in Colorado, with the percentage rated poor or very poor jumping from 37% to 46%. Conditions in Michigan also deteriorated, with the percentage rated poor or very poor climbing from 16% last week to 19%.
