AgCanada Sees Mustard Output Jump
PANAMA - May 25/18 - SNS -- In its latest monthly review of Canadian mustard seed Agriculture Canada's market analysis branch in Winnipeg updated its forecast for the 2018-19 marketing year, based on Statistics Canada's seeding intentions report.
It thinks production will reach 170,000 MT from 177,000 hectares this year, compared to 122,000 MT from 156,000 hectares last year.
Agriculture Canada forecasts exports will reach 125,000 MT in 2018-19, compared to 125,000 this season and 124,000 MT the previous marketing year. Domestic use is forecast at 47,000 MT in the coming marketing year, versus 47,000 this season.
Season ending stocks are forecast to finish the 2018-19 marketing year at 40,000 MT, versus 40,000 this season and 80,000 the previous marketing year.
