Improved Movement Supports Peas

PANAMA - May 4/18 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week with a firmer undertone against increased bulk export movement.

Preliminary bulk export data from the Canadian Grain Commission suggests around 183,900 metric tons (MT) of peas were loaded for bulk export in April. That is up from the 57,500 loaded in March, but down sharply from the 418,200 loaded during the same month last year.

Improved demand from China for peas for both livestock feed and for its fractionation industry are helping offset some of the impact of lost demand from India.
