Spot Birdseeds Generally Firmer

PANAMA - Apr 21/18 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets finished the week's trading on a generally firmer note, despite rising trade tension between China the United States.

Canadian canaryseed markets were mostly unchanged on the week, while white proso millet seed was nominally firmer, with grower bids showing strength in most producing states.

Discussing market conditions, the U.S. based National Sunflower Association (NSA) noted that "old crop sunflower prices finished the week up 5 cents. New crop prices ended mixed at down 10 to up 5 cents."
