MELBOURNE - Apr 20/18 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure over southern coasts and western coasts, will move across the agricultural area and far west today. A high 1020 hPa south of the Bight will move southeastwards, ahead of another trough which will move over the far southwest late Monday and the west and south of the State on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayEarly morning fog patches over the Nullarbor Plain. A slight to medium chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms elsewhere southwest of a line Oodnadatta to Broken Hill, clearing from southern coastal districts by midday and throughout by late evening. Mild near southern coasts, grading to hot in the far north. Light and variable winds turning moderate southerly in the west and south and then fresh southeasterly about south central parts in the evening.Sunday 22 AprilEarly morning fog patches over the West Coast district, Eyre Peninsula, Kangaroo Island and South East districts. A fine day. Mild to warm over the southern agricultural area, grading to hot over the north and west. Light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds, tending northerly over most of the agricultural area in the afternoon.Monday 23 AprilA slight chance of showers over the far west of the North West Pastoral district, the West Coast district west of about Ceduna and near the west coast of Eyre Peninsula, increasing to a medium chance of showers with possible thunderstorms west of about Nullarbor. Warm to hot with freshening northeast to northwesterly winds ahead of a cooler, southerly change about the far west coast late evening.Tuesday 24 April A slight chance of showers over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts, increasing to a medium chance of showers over the southern agricultural area. Mild to warm near the coast, warm to hot elsewhere. Light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds freshening during the morning ahead of a southwest to southeasterly change over the west and south. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Tuesday are generally expected to be less than 2 mm, with isolated falls up to 10 mm possible with thunderstorms. Wednesday until FridayA slight chance of showers over the southern agricultural area, West Coast district, Eyre Peninsula and the south of the pastoral districts, contracting to near southern and far western coasts on Thursday then near southern coasts and in the far northwest on Friday. Mild to warm in the south grading to warm to hot in the north, becoming mild to warm throughout by Thursday.Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds extending throughout.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Saturday.Product IDS10033 Notice Board 31 additional forecast locations for SA Changes to state Weather and Warnings pages --> BoM is upgrading its IT systems in South Australia on Tuesday 5 December 2017.
