Field Peas Relax

PANAMA - Apr 6/18 - SNS -- International field peas markets were more relaxed during the past week, as traders became convinced India will not seek to ban imports of all pulses.

However, tur or pigeon pea, mung and black mapte beans remain on the restricted list, with imports subject to relatively high tariffs and quota restrictions.

That countries demand for peas remains weak even though they remain an economic alternative to the rabi season desi type chickpeas now being harvested in parts of the country.
