Birdseeds Maintain Firming Trend
PANAMA - Mar 16/18 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets were unchanged to firmer during the past week because of relatively tight supply conditions.
Grower selling interest slipped behind the short term needs of some processors, while others worry about the supply situation in the weeks prior to the availability of new crop product.
The need for expanded production of sunflower was reflected in increases in new crop grower bids. U.S. based National Sunflower Association (NSA) notes that prices added "another 5 to 10 cents per hundredweight (100 pounds) this week.
