Mustard Bids Ease

PANAMA - Mar 3/18 - SNS -- Canadian mustard seed markets finished the week on a mixed note, with spot market bids paid to Canadian growers shifting in response to short term demand.

In U.S. dollar terms, spot market values for No 1 Canada yellow mustard inched up from U.S. $27.10 per 100 pounds (cwt) to $27.90, while oriental was unchanged at $23.11 and brown sank from $36.66 to $33.87.

The adjustments are not enough to change the current outlook for seeded area in Canada. Land in all classes of mustard seed is expected to jump from 385,000 to 559,000 acres.
