MELBOURNE - Feb 25/18 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over Tasmania will reach the Tasman Sea on Monday and remain there on Tuesday. A cold front will move into the Bight on Tuesday and approach western Victoria Tuesday night, crossing the State during Wednesday. On Thursday, the next high pressure system will approach southwest Victoria late in the day. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine and mostly sunny over western and central districts. Partly cloudy with isolated showers over the east, clearing by early afternoon. Mild to warm with light to moderate east to southeasterly winds, fresh at times near the coast.Fire Danger - Generally high.Tuesday 27 FebruaryFine apart from early morning fog patches in the east. Warm to hot and mostly sunny with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds and milder afternoon seabreezes along Gippsland coast.Wednesday 28 FebruaryWarm over the north and east at first with moderate to fresh northerly winds. A cooler southwesterly change over the southwest, extending eastwards across the State during the day. Isolated showers developing in the south following the change, but remaining dry and generally sunny over the north.Thursday 1 MarchFine apart from isolated showers near the coast during the morning.
