Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 25/18 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system [1022 hPa] centred near Tasmania will move southeastwards to be over the southern Tasman Sea by tonight. A low pressure trough will move over the west and south of the state during Tuesday, followed by a cold front over southern coasts early Wednesday morning. Another high pressure system will develop over the Bight during Wednesday then move eastwards late next week.
Forecast for the rest of MondayFine and sunny. Possible early morning fog patches about the Nullarbor Plain. Warm over the southern agricultural area but hot elsewhere. Mainly light southeast to northeasterly winds and fresh afternoon sea breezes near the coast.Tuesday 27 FebruaryA slight chance of showers developing near western coasts during the afternoon, extending to near southern coasts during the evening. Possible evening thunderstorms near southern coasts. Hot with moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, fresh in the west and south during the morning, ahead of a milder, fresh and gusty southwesterly change over the west and far south. Possible raised dust over the west of the North West Pastoral district following the change.Wednesday 28 FebruaryA slight chance of early morning showers about Kangaroo Island, southern Fleurieu Peninsula and the Lower South East, increasing to a medium chance of showers about the south of the Lower South East. Possible early morning thunderstorms about the south of the Lower South East. Mild near the coast grading to hot in the north and very hot in the northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Thursday 1 March
A slight to medium chance of showers developing in the far southwest. A slight chance of showers near the Lower South East coast. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Mainly moderate southeasterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Thursday are expected to be less than 2 mm.
Friday until SundayA slight chance of showers and possible thunderstorms over the far northeast, extending across the far north on Sunday. A slight chance of showers in the far southwest and also near southern and western coasts. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds freshening over the weekend.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Monday.Product IDS10033

BoM is upgrading its IT systems in South Australia on Tuesday 5 December 2017.
This will occur between 17:00 and 21:00 (ACDT).
Within this 4-hour window there will be an outage between 2.5 and 3.0 hours affecting observations from Automatic Weather Stations.
All South Australian forecast and warning services will continue to be monitored and updated through back up arrangements.
