Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 21/18 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the southwest Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the north, promoting generally fine conditions across New South Wales today. As the high moves further east on Friday, a trough is forecast to develop over the northern coast, bringing the possibility of heavy showers to the far northeast. This trough will dissipate early Saturday as a trough and associated cold front approach from the southwest. This system is forecast to bring unsettled weather as it moves through southern and western districts during Saturday, before stalling in the northeast on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine, apart from a the chance of a shower about the far north coast and adjacent ranges, most likely in the far northeast corner at night. Daytime temperatures near average. East to northeast winds.Fire Danger -  Very High: North Western fire area.Friday 23 FebruaryShowers about the far north coast and adjacent ranges, possibly heavy at times near the coast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere, apart from the chance of a light shower over the southwest. Daytime temperatures near or above average, tending below average in the far northeast. Fresh north to northeast winds.Saturday 24 FebruaryShowers and isolated thunderstorms in central and eastern districts. Mostly fine in the west. Daytime temperatures above average across most areas, most notably over southern and central coastal districts. Fresh northerly winds ahead of a southwest to southerly change in the west and over the far south coast later in the day.Sunday 25 FebruaryShowers and the chance of thunderstorm in the northeast. The chance of a shower elsewhere, though fine and sunny in the far west. Daytime temperatures above average in the north, and below average in the south. Fresh southeast to southwesterly winds, tending north to northwesterly in the far northeast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Thursday.Product IDN10031
