Low U.S. Pea Stocks
PANAMA - Jan 15/18 - SNS -- Markets were somewhat surprised the USDA December 1 stocks in all positions report in the United States.
As of December 1, the USDA says on hand inventories of peas dropped from 676,585 metric tons (MT) last year to 430,146, close to the drop in opening season available supplies of product.
The USDA pegged the 2017 harvest at 643,065 MT from 1.1 million acres, compared to 1.26 million MT from 1.38 million acres the previous year.
