Red and Greens Continue to Diverge

PANAMA - Jan 5/18 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week on a mixed note, with red showing underlying weakness and greens remaining relatively firm.

Between August and November, official exports of both classes of lentils were down from last year's levels, with red registering the biggest drop.

Canadian exporters saw shipments to both India and Turkey drop below last year's levels. That was a key reason total red lentil exports plunged from almost 853,000 metric tons (MT) to just over 224,000.
