Steady Rabi Seeding Progress

PANAMA - Dec 8/17 - SNS -- Seeding of this year's rabi season pulse crops pished forward at faster weekly pace than this time last year, narrowing the gap between the amount of land sown.

During the week, farmers planted 979,000 hectares, compared to 905,000 during the same week last year, and ahead of the recent five-year average for the past week of 739,600 hectares.

Land in all pulses of all rabi season pulses totals 12.762 million so far this season, compared to 11.973 million at this time last year and the recent average of 11.978 million.
