Edible Beans Easier in Light Trade

PANAMA - Nov 10/17 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets were little changed in seasonal trading activity during in the past week.

Even so, the U.S. spot index for beans slipped 1.6 points on the week to close at 124.5, reflecting the ready availability of new crop product.

Other major pulse price indices were sharply lower on the week in response to India's decision to raise the import duty on peas to 50% effective November 9. The Canadian pulse price index sank 12.6 points to finish at 155.3, while the world pulse price index fell 8.0 points to finish the week at 148.6.
