Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 18/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system lies over the Tasman Sea, while a trough and associated cold front approach New South Wales from the west. This frontal system will bring rain to the state's south and west tomorrow, shifting through central areas and into the northeast during Friday, followed by a cooler southerly change. Behind this, a new high in the Bight will extend a ridge into New South Wales during the weekend, though a trough may linger over the northern inland for a day or two.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayA shower or two about the north coast and adjacent ranges. Fine elsewhere. North to northeasterly winds, fresh along most of the coast.Thursday 19 OctoberRain in the west, with thunderstorms possible later in the day. Rain areas reaching central and southeastern parts in the evening. The chance of a morning shower on the north coast, otherwise fine and partly cloudy in the northeast. Above average daytime temperatures in most south and central areas, and near average across the north. Northeast to northwesterly winds, fresh along the coast. A southerly change in the western inland later in the day.Friday 20 OctoberRain in northwestern, central and southeastern districts, shifting northeast through the day. The chance of thunderstorms about the central and northern inland. Fine in the southwest. Daytime temperatures below average in most areas, particularly the northern inland. Northerly winds in the northeast, with a fresh south to southeasterly change extending through the remainder.Saturday 21 OctoberRain in the northeast, mostly clearing by evening. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Daytime temperatures mostly below average, most noticeably across the north. South to southeasterly winds.Sunday 22 OctoberThe chance of a morning shower on the northern coast, otherwise fine and partly cloudy. Daytime temperatures below average.
