Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 18/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A large high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will remain slow moving during today. A low pressure trough over South Australia is expected to reach far southwest Victoria early Thursday, crossing the State to the far east by late Thursday night before moving over the Tasman Sea. Another high pressure system will then become established in the Bight on Friday and extend a ridge across Victoria, with the same pattern persisting over the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayMorning fog patches in the east otherwise a sunny, warm to hot day. Cloud increasing in the west during the afternoon and evening with isolated showers possible over the far west at night. Moderate northerly winds, fresh at times in the south, and afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Thursday 19 OctoberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms extending across the State during the morning then clearing over western and central parts during the late afternoon and evening. Mild to warm with moderate northerly winds, fresh at times in the south, with a southwesterly cool change entering western parts during the morning then extending across the State during the day.Friday 20 OctoberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over eastern districts clearing during the early morning. Isolated showers about remaining southern parts until the early afternoon. Cool in the south, milder over the north with moderate to locally fresh southerly winds.Saturday 21 OctoberMostly cloudy in the south with isolated showers. Dry and mostly sunny in the north. Cool to mild with moderate south to southwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Wednesday.Product IDV10310
