Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 18/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is centred over the Tasman Sea. A trough of low pressure over the far southwest of the State will move over western and southern parts on Wednesday, then over the remainder on Thursday. A new high pressure system will move in south of the Bight late Thursday, then remain near stationary for the following few days.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayA slight to medium chance of showers in the far west and also developing about western and southern coastal districts. Possible thunderstorms west of about Ceduna, mainly in the early morning then again in the afternoon and evening. Local areas of raised dust in the far west early evening. Warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a milder, fresh southerly change extending across the west during the day.Thursday 19 OctoberA slight to medium chance of showers over most parts of the State apart from some areas north of Coober Pedy and in the far southwest. Possible isolated morning thunderstorms in the west then developing east of about Lameroo to Oodnadatta during the afternoon and evening. Fresh southerly winds in the west and south gradually extending throughout. Mild near the coast grading to hot in the northeast.Friday 20 OctoberSlight to medium chance of showers and possible isolated thunderstorms in the far northeast, clearing by evening. Cool near the coast grading to mild to warm inland, and warm to hot in the north. Moderate southeasterly winds, fresh near the coast with afternoon and early evening sea breezes.Saturday 21 October
Fine. Cool to mild near southern coasts grading to warm in the north and west. Moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh at times near the coast with afternoon and early evening sea breezes.
Cumulative rainfall totals up until midnight Saturday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area, and the far south and the far northeast of the North East Pastoral district. Falls increasing to 5 to 10 mm about the South East districts. Less than 2 mm is expected elsewhere. Local falls of 5 to 20 mm are possible with thunderstorms.
Sunday until TuesdayFine apart from a slight chance of showers about the Lower South East coast on on Sunday and Monday then a slight chance of showers developing over the west of the State and over southern coasts on Tuesday. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north, becoming warmer throughout during the period. Mainly moderate southeast to northeasterly winds fresh at times in the west on Tuesday ahead of a west to southwesterly change.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Wednesday.Product IDS10033
