Steady Start for Mustard Exports

PANAMA - Oct 6/17 - SNS -- Mustard seed exports have started the 2017-18 marketing year on a relatively steady note, with official exports for August slipping just 180 metric tons (MT) behind last year 7,854.

Bulk export loadings for the month were nominal, reflecting the emphasis on direct truck and containerized shipments in bags.

Movement to the United States was almost unchanged from last year at 60% of all shipments. During the past three seasons, movement to that destination have averaged just over 68,000 MT, reflecting strong relationships between food manufacturers and processors in Canada.
