New Crop Birdseeds Drifting

PANAMA - Sep 23/17 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets continued to drift lower in both grower and dealer markets against improved availability of new crop millet and canaryseed.

Canada's canaryseed harvest started the week with 58% of the crop in the bin, compared to 20% at the same time last year and the recent average of 25.6%.

Discussing markets in the United States, that country's National Sunflower Association noted this year's harvest will start soon as many acres are maturing quickly and could be desiccated to begin harvest.
