MELBOURNE - Aug 21/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure lies through inland parts of the state and is gradually moving east. As it clears the state overnight, as subtle ridge of high pressure will replace it from the west before a cold front skims across southern parts of the state late Wednesday and Thursday. A stronger ridge is likely to extend across from the west at the end of the week. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine and mostly sunny, apart from the slight chance of a shower over the northern ranges and far north coast. Morning frost about the southern and central ranges and slopes. Daytime temperatures near average in the southwest and above average elsewhere, especially in the northeast. Winds light and variable, becoming west to southwesterly in the west and easterly along most of the coast.Wednesday 23 AugustFine and mostly sunny, apart from the chance of a shower over the far southern inland, falling as snow above 1400 metres about Alps. Morning frost about the ranges and slopes. Daytime temperatures near or above average. Winds generally light southwest to southeasterly.Thursday 24 AugustA few showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, particularly about central parts. Snow showers above 1100 metres about the Alps. Fine and mostly sunny in the west. Morning frost patches on the highlands. Daytime temperatures near or above average. South to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Friday 25 AugustA shower or two along central and northern parts of the coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Morning frost about the ranges and slopes. Daytime temperatures near average.
