Above Average Harvest Pace

REGINA - Aug 17/17- SNS -- This year's pulse crop harvest is moving forward at an above average pace, according to the latest crop progress report from Saskatchewan Agriculture.

The provincial agriculture says 35% of this year's lentil and 28% of the field pea crop is now in the bin. That compares to 5% and 15% respectively at this time last year and the recent five year averages of 16% and 22%.

Rain delays were reported in some areas during the past week, but weather forecasters expected a return to the hot and dry conditions which have prevailed during much of the growing season.
