Birdseeds Mixed on USDA Report
PANAMA - Aug 13/17 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets finished the week mixed, with values in the United States declining in sympathy with grains and oilseeds after bearish USDA production and supply-demand estimates.
Oil type sunflower and white proso millet seed markets in the United States closed lower in both grower and inter-dealer markets. Canaryseed, on the other hand, was little changed against ongoing doubts about the yield potential of this year's crop.
Rains during the past week should be beneficial to both sunflower and canaryseed, but markets remain sensitive to any significant changes in weather conditions.
