Improved Buying Supports Chickpeas
PANAMA - Aug 13/17 - SNS -- International kabuli chickpeas finished the week's trading on a firm note against improved buying interest.
They were unaffected by the latest USDA crop report, which saw this year's area estimate for the United States jump from and initial estimate of 462,000 acres to 603,800.
Breaking down area by state, the USDA said total chickpea area in Montana leapt from 99,000 to 247,000 acres, bringing the official number more in line with initial estimates by processors.
