MELBOURNE - Jul 22/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front will move over southern coasts later tonight and over the south of the State on Sunday. A high pressure system will move across the west and north of the State on Sunday and Monday. A trough of low pressure is expected to move across the west and south of the State on Tuesday followed by another cold front moving over the South East on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayA slight chance of showers developing about the Lower Eyre Peninsula this evening, increasing to a medium to high chance of showers about southern coasts and the Lower South East district this evening, with a possible squally thunderstorm about the Lower South East Coast late evening. A cool evening with moderate northwest to westerly winds, fresh about southern coasts.Sunday 23 JulyPossible morning fog patches about western districts. A slight to medium chance of showers over the agricultural area, increasing to a high chance to very high chance about the southern agricultural area. Possible thunderstorms about Kangaroo Island, the southern Mount Lofty Ranges and the South East and Murraylands districts. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds, tending light and variable in the north.Monday 24 JulyPossible morning fog over parts of the agricultural area. A slight to medium chance of showers about the southern agricultural area. Cool to cold early with areas of frost about and east of the Flinders Ranges. A cool to mild day in the south grading to warm in the north. Light to moderate north to northwesterly winds.Tuesday 25 JulyA slight chance of showers over the agricultural area and the south of the Pastoral districts increasing to a medium to high chance about the southern agricultural area and a very high chance about the Lower South East district. Mild in the south, warm elsewhere. Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds, shifting west to southwesterly in the south and west during the day.Wednesday 26 July Possible morning fog about the West Coast and the south of the North West Pastoral district. A slight to medium chance of showers about the southern agricultural area increasing to a high chance about the Lower South East district. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Light to moderate west to southwesterly winds, tending fresh about southern coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Wednesday are expected to be less than 2 mm over the south of the Pastoral districts and the northern agricultural area, increasing to 2 to 10 mm about the southern agricultural area and 10 to 25 mm about the Mount Lofty Ranges and the Lower South East coast. Thursday until SaturdayA slight to medium chance of showers about the agricultural area increasing to a high about southern coasts. Showers contracting to south of Adelaide on Friday, then extending over the agricultural area and the south of the Pastoral districts on Saturday.
