Yield Fears For North American Beans

PANAMA - Jul 16/17 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets finished the week's trading on a mixed note against differing attitudes toward selling by exporters of the various classes of beans.

This was reflected in the U.S. spot index for beans which was little changed on the week, slipping 0.4 points to 135.6. Mixed attitudes were reflected in other major pulse prices indices. The Canadian pulse price index gained 2.2 points to finish at 180.2, while the world pulse price index slipped 0.3 points to close the week at 170.4.

Processors and exporters in the United States remain concerned about the yield potential of this year's crops.
